Beat the Georgia heat with this indoor, member-run, non-profit children’s museum. From interactive education exhibits to programming to arts + crafts area, they have something for all of your littles (and bigs too!). The museum is open to the public Sunday, Monday + Tuesday right now. Make sure to check out their upcoming events + exhibits on their Facebook page and website.

Reed Creek Nature Park & Interpretive Center

Reed Creek is the perfect place for a stroll around the boardwalk. Take in all the different plants, wildlife and critters you will find through the wetlands. If you stop by while the center is open, check out the animals on exhibit, play a game with your family, or read a book about one of the critters!

Pink Dipper

Who doesn’t love a locally owned ice cream shop to beat the heat! Stop by the Pink Dipper and enjoy an ice cream date! Proudly serving the CSRA for over forty years, everyone is sure to find a treat they love here!

Dutch Creek Animal Farm

Take a trip out to Appling to meet some adorable pigs, rabbits, horses, donkeys, llamas and so many more! Learn all about the different animals from how to take care of them to brushing them. While you are there, you can take a ride around the farm on the one of the sweet animals. Before you leave, stop by the picnic tables for a picnic lunch and some play time in their little play house – the perfect size for children 5 and under!

Make sure to make your reservation before you head out there – visits are limited to Friday + Saturday’s.

Double Branches Farm and Produce Market

Strawberries, Blackberries, Blueberries are just a few of the many fruits and veggies you can get out here. Depending on the season, your little will be able to pick all of their own fruit. After picking the fruit, make sure to check out the wooden swing that overlooks the pond and all the perfect toddler-sized ride on toys on their play pad. From the antique tractor to the wagon, there is a ride on toy for all littles.

Make sure to check out their veggies too! Their green beans, zucchini and squash are beyond delicious!
