Let’s face it, there are no rules or accurate guidebooks to being a mom. Instead, we are all of a sudden supposed to know everything there is from the moment we find out we are pregnant with these new little humans. It can be overwhelming and frustrating when trying to find resources or information or just help in general. However, at the Augusta Care Pregnancy Center, they genuinely believe it takes a village to care for a child, and they are here by your side every step.
No matter what you need during your journey as a mom, Augusta Care Pregnancy Center wants you to know that you are never alone and that they can help. Whether or not you are trying to conceive, finding out you are pregnant is a surprise, and you are never ready. Alternatively, maybe you need help with your relationship. Augusta Care Pregnancy Center has services just for you.
The Augusta Care Pregnancy Center is the central spot for education about everything you are going through. They offer a variety of classes and support groups. To start, the Nurturing Place is a support group for expecting and new mothers. The Nurturing Place aims to provide mothers with an opportunity to learn about the development of their babies, labor and delivery, and newborn care.
While attending classes, you can earn vouchers redeemable at their baby store. Some of what they supply are baby clothes, diapers, maternity clothes, baby furniture, and everything you will need for your newborn. In addition, women and men seeking support, information, and skills for confident childbirth can also take a parenting class. In this class, you will learn about physical and emotional changes, breastfeeding, nutritional cooking, budgeting on a low income, recognizing abuse, child development, and so much more. This class meets at two times on Tuesdays, from 10 am to 12 pm or 6 pm to 8 pm at the downtown location.
Another group is the Wounded Hearts. The purpose of this meeting is to provide a Bible study for women who have suffered from emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. Wounded Hearts meets every Monday at 7 pm. Finally, suppose you are just interested in an open Bible Study. In that case, Augusta Care Pregnancy Center has a group meeting weekly on Thursdays at 11 am downtown. A Healthy Relationship class also talks about how to obtain healthy relationships. It is an eight-week program that meets every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm at the downtown location, and the topics covered include: living with a purpose, standing strong, thinking ahead, taking control in life, power and control in your life, looking to the future, letting go of the past, and living well in the big picture.
Suppose at any time you are struggling or need to chat with other women who directly understand what you are going through. In that case, you can join Post Abortion Counseling. Just as it sounds, this is available for women experiencing Post-Abortion Stress Syndrome. Additionally, this service is available for anyone needing support in healing from past abortions. The class meets at the West Augusta location from 6 pm to 7 pm on Tuesdays. As part of their Abstinence Outreach program, Augusta Care Pregnancy Center strives to instill sexual purity and forgiveness in the community. In addition, the Mommy Store offers items for moms and babies that you can purchase with points you earn from attending any class.
Augusta Pregnancy Center has a 24-hour helpline (706-724-Free) that you can call anytime. It exists for you to ask questions or get support from someone knowledgeable and caring. The Augusta Care Pregnancy Center also offers free, accurate pregnancy testing and sonograms for women in crisis situations. Thanks to donors like you in the community, Augusta Care Pregnancy Center provides all services for free. Donating online or volunteering are two ways you can support the center’s programs.
