What This School Teaches

Children ages two through twelve attend Augusta Preparatory Day School, an independent college prep school. This school recognizes the importance of the younger years when students master essential academic skills. In keeping with the tradition of academic excellence, their Lower School program emphasizes acquiring tools necessary for academic success. Preschoolers arrive learning the alphabet, and by the time they graduate fourth grade, they are ready for the challenging Middle School program and beyond.

Augusta Preparatory Day School curriculum fosters intellectual curiosity, promotes creativity, and builds independence. Students will learn Spanish, have small classes and individualized instruction, and learn in an atmosphere where creativity and exploration are valued and encouraged, and talents and strengths are appreciated. After students graduate from the Lower School Program, they will advance to the Middle School Program. This is a challenging and engaging college-prep curriculum. Small class sizes and strong relationships between students, teachers, and peers foster student motivation and success.

Extracurricular Programs

In addition to service activities, field trips, and class retreats, the academic curriculum includes technology, drama, art, music, and daily physical education. As a student progresses through Middle School, small advisory groups meet weekly for relationship building and guidance. Many clubs and enrichment opportunities are available to middle school students throughout the year. As well as a strong and competitive sports program. So there is something to try for everyone. Once completing the Middle School Program, students will advance to the Upper School Program.

The Upper School Program offers small class sizes which support relationships. This allows its students and faculty to achieve great things. The Upper School is where students are known, valued, and challenged to be their best selves. This program excels in academics, arts, athletics, cyber, robotics, STEM, STEAM, and community leadership pursuits. Augusta Preparatory Day School offers many activities in addition to academics. The offerings include 19 varsity sports, including baseball, basketball, clay target shooting, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. They also offer a top-notch theater and arts program. They are a school that promotes excitement in learning, deep understanding, and emotional growth. Augusta Preparatory Day School is a place where children come to see learning as a lifelong and joyous pursuit.
