About Episcopal Day School Augusta

Episcopal Day School Augusta is an independent Episcopal school in Augusta, Georgia, with a rich history. It was founded in 1944 by the Church of the Good Shepherd as a Christian kindergarten and childcare resource for mothers working in the war effort. Today, as a co-educational day school, Episcopal Day School Augusta serves three-year-olds through eighth grade. Its goal is to provide an exceptional education in a Christian environment, encouraging students to be academically prepared, intellectually curious, socially capable, and spiritually aware as they enter high school.

The Episcopal Day School Augusta is a mission of the Church of the Good Shepherd. It exists to lead children to discover their place in God’s world for lives of wisdom, love, and service. Informed by a Christian perspective, they offer an education that attends to the nurturing and development of the whole child, forming their foundation for life. Programs & Education

There are several programs offered at Episcopal Day School Augusta. You can expect bright colors, a smiling teacher and assistant, excited children, games, and enriching activities during the Preschool Program. Preschoolers learn through age-appropriate discovery and exploration, playing with purpose. Kids will learn science, religion, foreign language, STEM, chapel, music, technology, and full access to the school library. The preschool day begins at 8:10 AM and ends at 12:30 PM. Before and after school care is available from 7:00 AM until 8:00 AM and from 12:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

The Lower School program (kindergarten through fourth grade) provides a motivating and nurturing environment. Personal responsibility for learning is fostered through safe classrooms for students to explore, ask questions, and experiment with individual and collective ideas. Students will learn journal writing, math, science, social studies, language arts, physical education, foreign language, religion, and technology. The school day begins at 8:10 AM and ends at 3:00 PM. Before-school care is available from 7:00 AM until 8:00 AM. After-school care is available from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

Episcopal Day School Augusta offers a dynamic and enriched middle school curriculum to help students cultivate the habits of mind, heart, and body they will need for school and beyond. Students will learn English, literature, math, science, social studies, Spanish, religion, leadership, technology, arts, robotics, study skills, and health. Every grade level is specifically curated to meet the specific needs of the little ones. This educational facility is ready to help you and your family every step of the way.

Before & After School Care

In addition to outstanding academic excellence, Episcopal Day School Augusta offers preschool and before and after-school care. Pricing range depending on if you need full-day or half-day care. You can also use a daily drop-in service when you need it most with a daily fee.

Activities

Students can also engage in enrichment programs such as martial arts and the music club for all ages and levels. Students can also engage in various sports throughout the year, including cross country, volleyball, football, golf, tennis, basketball, swimming, cheerleading, baseball, soccer, and track and field.
