About Curtis Baptist School

Curtis Baptist School opened its doors in 1964 and has been a comprehensive, private Christian school enrolling students in grades kindergarten through twelve. They also have a daycare/preschool for the little ones. The school is centralized on one campus at 1326 Broad Street, Augusta. The Athletic Facilities are located only two miles away at 2230 Broad Street.

The Curtis Baptist School student body draws students from the entire area, including Richmond, Columbia, Aiken, Edgefield, and Burke counties. Churches represented include Baptist, Presbyterian, United Methodist, and Non-denominational. Hence, no matter what religion you practice, Curtis Baptist School is excited to have your family attend its prestigious school. This school is a faith-based environment that infuses a Biblical worldview in all areas of academics, fine arts, and athletics, developing bold and devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

The name of the school, Curtis, actually stands for C (Christ-like), U (Unity), R (Responsibility), T (Truth), I (Integrity), and S (Service). They believe in these values and instill them in every student, whether in academics, extra activities, sports, or social life. Your kids will gain so much at Curtis Baptist School that they will stay with them throughout their lifetime.

Classes & The Typical Day

A typical day at Curtis Baptist School can include many different activities. The school is open 180 days from August to May. There are four quarters per year and seven classes per day, and they last about 50 minutes each. Students will take English, math, science, social studies, career, technical, agricultural, modern language, fine arts, and health education. All academic courses are college preparatory, and they offer honors, advanced placement, and dual enrollment. The best part is that 100% of students who attend here were accepted into college, 87% into a four-year university, and 13% into a two-year college.

Curtis Baptist School offers a program called “The Learning Place.” This program consists of classes for students with a specific learning disability who benefit from a smaller class setting specific to their learning style. They are happy to include all students and assist with particular needs.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Curtis Baptist School offers a diverse, multicultural student body and environment. Students can engage in art, music, computer classes, yearbook, journalism, and creative writing. In addition to the included curriculum, students can partake in the Beta club, student council, spelling bee, and the math olympics. The athletic program also offers baseball, volleyball, softball, cheerleading, tennis, track and field, cross country, soccer, bowling, and golf.

This school encourages its students to reach out to the community. Community service projects are incorporated into Bible Class at all school levels. High school students earn community service hours each of their four years, as community service hours are required for graduation. Spirituality is of utmost importance here. There are weekly chapels, teachers who pray for their students, and students attend many spiritual retreats and mission projects.

Tuition

Curtis Baptist School charges tuition annually, quarterly, or monthly. Kindergarten full-time costs $6,500 annually, grades one through five cost $7,300 annually, grades six to eight cost $7,800 annually, and grades nine through twelve costs $8,700 annually. The discounts include military, Curtis Baptist Church membership, ministerial discounts, and multi-child discounts. Curtis Baptist School offers lunch provided by the facility, and before and after care, so they are flexible with your specific family needs.

Daycare & Preschool

Curtis Baptist Daycare and Preschool is dedicated to giving your child a better start in life. Every element of their preschool is designed to enrich your child’s mind, body, and spirit, from their dedicated faculty and inspired array of programs to their secure, state-of-the-art facility.

A Biblically based approach to learning is a great place to start the school experience for your child. They provide preschool for little ones ages 13 months to Pre-K from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Preschool runs $7,800 annually or $150 weekly. A great program at a great price is great to look into! In the summertime, they offer summer camps for students ages kindergarten to 5th grade.

I have created this community for all mommas at any stage of motherhood - whether you are expecting your first or proud momma of multiples - this group is for you. The group focus is to empower, support and educate as many local mommas as I can. Motherhood is not always easy, and you are never alone.

I wanted to create a safe space for mommas to chat together, have a play date, share a laugh, and share all the authentic parts of motherhood (the good, the bad AND the ugly). I want this group to become a second family for you to go to when you need a friend. Occasionally I will also share pieces of information on meal planning, budgeting, session information and how to get better iPhone pictures of your children!
